Ski and snowboard experiences in the Vialattea

The Vialattea is the lesson, and the technique comes second. Half a day or a full day, in a group of 3 to 5.

How it works

  • Half day or full day

    4h30, or a full day of 7h30.

  • Meeting point

The Tappeto Jolly magic carpet, at the bottom of the Sestriere lifts.

  • Minimum 3 people

Same rule as the clinics: if we don’t reach it, we let you know 72 hours ahead and offer you an alternative of the same value.

Weather-window outings

Freeride, ski touring and splitboard aren’t planned in advance: we announce them during the season, right after a snowfall, sometimes only a few hours ahead. The dates go up on Bee Bee Board; if you want to know straight away, we’ll let you know on WhatsApp.

Off-piste equipment

This applies to freeride, ski touring and splitboard.

  • Avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe

    Compulsory: you bring your own.

  • Airbag backpack

    Recommended.

  • Hire

If you don’t have the kit, our office will tell you where to hire it.

Before you sign up

The early-bird rate. It isn’t refundable, because the discount is tied to booking early. If you can’t come, you can move your booking to another date on the calendar and keep the rate. If we’re the ones who don’t confirm the experience, you get a full refund. The refund minus the 10% charge applies instead to lessons booked at the full rate and cancelled within the terms.

Off-piste. Off-piste outings take place outside the ski area, on ungroomed terrain that rescue vehicles struggle to reach. Carrying avalanche safety equipment (shovel, transceiver and probe) is compulsory by law.

Your level. Experiences need an intermediate or advanced level: if you’re not sure, have a look at the Ski and snowboard levels page.

Experience or clinic? An experience is about discovering the area, over half a day or a full day; a clinic works for three hours on one technical theme.

With friends or family? Up to 5 people of the same level, you can book a 3-hour private lesson, built around you.

All the prices for the season are in Prices; cancellations, minimum numbers and the other conditions are in the Terms and conditions.

Where the dates are. You’ll find the active dates, and book them, on Bee Bee Board: this site has no calendar. That’s where the FAQs below point too.

Frequently asked questions

What are Experiences and Clinics?

Experiences and Clinics are fixed-date group lessons, open to anyone who signs up: you don’t need to arrive with a group of your own. Clinics focus on one specific technical theme and last 3 hours; Experiences are more about the experience itself and discovering the area, and last 4.5 hours or a full day. Check the calendar on the site for the dates that are open.

Do you organise activities for small groups of friends?

Of course! For a group of friends or family (up to 5 people at the same level) you can book a 3-hour private lesson, built around you with one of our instructors: from your first turns to discovering the Vialattea ski area, through to freeride and days out in fresh snow, on touring skis or a splitboard. The length adapts to what you need, from 3 hours up to a full day, and it is built around the level of the group, from beginners to experts.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Lessons go ahead in bad weather too: snowfall, wind and fog are conditions to expect when you spend time in the mountains. A lesson is only cancelled and refunded if the lifts close.

Is insurance included in the lesson?

No, the price of our private and group lessons doesn’t include any form of insurance. We strongly recommend that you check your own cover, or take out extra insurance, so you can enjoy your lessons on the snow safely.

Third-party liability insurance (RC) is compulsory by law when you ski or snowboard on the pistes. If you don’t have any, you can buy it together with your lift pass. This basic third-party cover also includes first aid if you have an accident.

Keep in mind that on-piste rescue is run by private operators and is charged separately. That is why third-party liability insurance matters: it covers those costs if you ever need them.

Where do we meet for the lesson? What is the meeting point?

The main meeting point is at the bottom of the Tappeto Jolly magic carpet, at the base of the Sestriere lifts. All group lessons — courses, Clinics and Experiences — start and finish there. For private lessons you can, on request and once our office confirms, meet your instructor at the Fraiteve gondola (opposite the Villaggio Olimpico), at Borgata or at Pragelato.
