Terms and conditions
The rules of our activities — season 2026/27
This English text is a translation of our Italian terms and conditions, here to help you read it. If the two versions differ, the Italian one is the binding text.
Booking or taking part in any YES Academy activity means you accept the terms and conditions below. By accepting them, you confirm that you are over 18, or that you allow the child in your care to use our services.
Booking contract
Your booking is confirmed when YES Academy sends you a written confirmation after receiving payment, by email or WhatsApp (above all for bookings made through that channel). Please check the confirmation carefully and tell YES Academy straight away if anything is wrong or missing. If it doesn’t arrive, contact our office.
You must be at least 18 to book. We need complete and accurate details, including the billing details for the lesson and at least one way to reach you, email or phone — preferably both.
Payment
Online, you pay the full amount when you book.
Through the office, a single lesson is paid in full.
Through the office, a booking of several days needs a 50% deposit and the form.
The balance is due before the activity starts.
Cancelling an activity
Lessons are cancelled by contacting the office.
Private lesson, single or in a group: you must cancel by 16:00 the day before the lesson.
Once the course has started, above all a course of several days, missed lessons can’t be refunded.
Within these terms, the lesson is refunded with 10% retained, to cover admin costs and any bank charges. Outside the terms above, no refund is due.
Multi-hour packages: volume discounts apply to the hours actually taken. If part of the hours is cancelled, the lessons already taken are recalculated at the full list price, each one according to its own length and season. The difference against the amount paid is refunded, with nothing further retained; if the recalculation comes to more than you have already paid, the difference is due as a balance.
Early-bird rates: lessons bought at an early-bird rate are non-refundable, because the discount is given for booking ahead. If you drop out you can still move the booking to another date in the calendar, keeping the rate. If it is the school that doesn’t confirm the event, you are refunded in full.
Minimum number not reached: group lessons — courses, Clinics and Experiences — need a minimum of 3 people. If the minimum isn’t reached, the school tells you within 72 hours of the start and offers an alternative of the same value: another date, a different length or an equivalent private lesson. If you don’t accept it, the amount paid is refunded in full.
Matching not completed: a shared lesson pairs two pupils at the same level. If the match isn’t completed, the school tells you within 48 hours of the start and offers an alternative. If you don’t accept it, the amount paid is refunded in full.
Insurance and risks
You are aware that skiing and snowboarding carry risks. The lesson takes place under the guidance of the instructor, who plans and runs it according to the level of the pupil or pupils and the conditions of the day. Pupils must state their own level honestly, follow the instructor’s directions and respect the rules of conduct on the piste.
The activities and services offered by YES Academy DO NOT include any insurance cover. Remember that anyone using ski pistes must hold third-party liability insurance (art. 30 of Italian Legislative Decree D.Lgs. 40/2021). Personal accident insurance, which is not compulsory by law, is recommended in line with your own needs. You can buy both together with your lift pass.
A helmet is compulsory by law for everyone using ski pistes (Italian Decree Law D.L. 96/2025). The instructor is OBLIGED to refuse a pupil who doesn’t have one. In that case there is no claim against YES Academy and the whole amount paid is retained.
Off-piste outings take place outside the ski area, on ungroomed terrain that rescue services find hard to reach. Avalanche safety equipment (shovel, avalanche transceiver and probe) is compulsory by law.
Rules of our lessons
The rules below apply to private, shared and group lessons.
- Unless agreed otherwise in advance, lessons run in slots of 1 hour and 30 minutes. To leave time to get back to the meeting point, they finish 5 minutes before the stated time.
- Please be on time. In any case the lesson ends at the scheduled time, and time lost through lateness can’t be made up or refunded.
- For pupils under 18, a parent or guardian must be there, on time, at the end of the lesson: the instructor can’t leave a child unattended, and a late pick-up would affect the lessons that follow.
- Lessons run in any weather. Only if the lifts close is the lesson cancelled and refunded.
- The cost of the lift pass is not included in lesson rates.
Private lessons. The usual meeting point is the Tappeto Jolly magic carpet; other points are possible on request, once the office approves them.
Rules of our season-long courses
- Please respect the lesson times: it is up to the instructor whether to take a late pupil into a lesson already under way.
- Behaviour that is inappropriate, or that could put the safety or the spirit of the group at risk, will be discussed with the parents. If it carries on over time, the School may remove the pupil without refunding the amount paid.
- Children and parents must check, each time, which equipment will be used during the lesson: the instructor may refuse a pupil without the right kit, if they feel it would get in the way of the lesson.
- In exceptional cases, and for technical reasons, instructors may change the lesson times, telling the parents first when the pupils are under 18.
- Pupils are divided into groups at the sole discretion of the instructors and the technical management.
- Children and teenagers must take part in the school uniform (jacket for YES Team - bib for Primi Passi and Tribù).
- No refund is due to anyone who stops the activities early.
- The “day packages” must be used in full within the current season.
- Anyone who buys a “day package” must confirm they are coming to a lesson 48 hours in advance, and cancel within the same notice.
- Taking part in the activities depends on the fees being paid by the set deadlines. A deposit of at least 50% is required when signing up, and the balance for the course must be paid by 15 February.
Governing law and place of jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by and interpreted in accordance with Italian law, without prejudice to any other overriding mandatory rule of the country where the buyer habitually resides. The interpretation, performance and termination of the General Conditions of Sale are therefore subject to Italian law alone.
Any dispute about the interpretation, performance or termination of the Terms and Conditions of Sale must be brought before the Court of Turin.
